Meeson Pae Yang was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. She received her BFA in 2002 from the University of California Los Angeles.
Yang’s solo exhibitions have been shown internationally and nationally at Galerie Kashya Hildebrand (Zurich, Switzerland), ArtHK (Hong Kong, China), and Blythe Projects (Los Angeles, US). Her group exhibitions include Galerie Agentur 162 (Essen, Germany), See Line Gallery (Los Angeles, CA), Phantom Galleries (Long Beach, CA), LA Artcore (Los Angeles, CA), SCA Gallery (Pomona, CA), Eli Klein Fine Art (New York, NY), and Harvard University’s Carpenter Center Gallery (Cambridge, MA).
Yang’s works have also been exhibited at the Exploratorium Museum (San Francisco, CA), the Torrance Art Museum (Torrance, CA), and the Japanese American National Museum (Los Angeles, CA). Yang is also a member of the Los Angeles Art Association and a recipient of the James Irvine Foundation’s California New Visions Award, the Durfee Foundation’s ARC award, the Hans G. and Lordis W. Burkhardt Foundation Award, and the Beverly Alpay Award. Yang’s special projects include working with Tim Hawkinson on a collaborative installation at Gallery 825. Her work is in the permanent collections of Ace Gallery in Los Angeles, Dallas World Trade Center, as well as many private collections. Yang’s public art projects include Phoenix Biomedical University Campus (Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture), LAX International Airport (Department of Cultural Affairs) and Mobile Exhibits (Arts Council for Long Beach). Yang has been featured in Art Ltd Magazine (Los Angeles), Theme Magazine (New York), New Scientist, the Korea Times, and the Los Angeles Times.
